Project Intention

Within the past 4 years I was involved in many different database projects especially in conjunction with ORACLE databases.

I tried to use coding standards from others and my own. I used different tools for coding PL/SQL-Packages which sometimes saved work and sometimes helped nothing.

I want to develop a PL/SQL framework with coding, testing, documentation and distribution standards. I hope that there are others out there who are interesting in working on the same theme.

Concept

In short the concept constist of 3 different aspects. First of all I want to deploy a standard and prooved design of coding for PL/SQL. This design will give a developer a small framework for error handling, data management and logging and a standard way of coding with good documentation.

The second base is automatic documentation, versioning and deployment via ant. I want to use tasks for pldoc and svn.

Last but not least I want implement unit testing via Steve Feuersteins utPLSQL.

The biggest part will be a documentation of stiring all together to a usable soup of a good application design.

Timeline

The first milestone will be the documentation of needed tools and how to setup a project environment. I actually working on this issue.
